Although I grew up in Montevideo, a small town in southern Minnesota, I knew I had found the place I wanted to spend the rest of my life when I took a canoe trip to Quetico Park after finishing high school. After immigrating to Canada, my wife and I helped run a canoe outfitting business for a few years and then worked as Park Rangers in Quetico Park for twelve summers. Since then I have worked as an archaeologist, written articles, had photographs published and taught at Confederation College. My wife and I currently live in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
